Local Turkish scrap market softens further

Turkish mills have announced a further softening of their domestic scrap purchase prices today, February 3, reducing them by TRY 30-200/mt, resulting in a $4-27/mt decrease on dollar basis. The dollar-based quotations of the other mills which decided to keep their lira-based prices stable have increased by $1/mt or remained stable.

Since yesterday, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved down from TRY 2,770-3,275/mt to TRY 2,700-3,275/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have moved up from the range of $386-457/mt to $377-457/mt.
