According to sources, domestic scrap prices have trended sideways in Italy over the past week, after decreasing slightly compared to May levels. Demand in the local Italian scrap market is still at good levels, though producers of long products such as rebar have reduced their demand. Conversely, scrap demand from specialty steel producers is still strong. The current situation should be maintained in the coming weeks.
