Local Italian scrap market move sideways

Domestic scrap prices in Italy have trended sideways after increasing slightly in the first days of March. The market situation has remained in equilibrium - demand is not strong, but at the same time scrap supplies are not high both at steelmakers' and at local traders'. According to sources, local steelmakers are signing contracts for short-time deliveries as they could try to push for lower purchasing prices in the latter part of April - since the finished product sales are unsatisfactory, production stoppages are expected on the occasion of the various local holidays.
