Latest situation in local Italian scrap market

During the past week, prices in the local Italian scrap market have stabilized, remaining virtually unchanged. According to sources, some Italian steelmakers have suspended their scrap purchases in the past few days as they are waiting for more clarity after the recent decline of import scrap prices in Turkey. In other words, market players are trying to understand whether such decline is the beginning of a bearish trend or a temporary setback. The situation should become clearer in a few days.
