Japan’s Tokyo Steel decreases scrap buying prices further

On April 15, SteelOrbis reported Tokyo Steel Okayama site reportedly at JPY 32,000/mt ($286/mt), the Tahara site at JPY 33,000 mt ($295/mt), and the Utsunomiya at JPY 31,300/mt ($279/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

According to sources close to SteelOrbis, scrap buying prices at the Okayama site are now reportedly around JPY 31,300/mt ($280/mt), the Tahara site at JPY 32,500 mt ($290/mt), and the Utsunomiya at JPY 31,000/mt ($277/mt), all prices delivered to customer. The Okayama site decreased $6/mt, the Tahara site decreased $5/mt, and the Utsunomiya site decreased $2/mt.
