Japan’s Tokyo Steel decreases scrap buying prices

On April 4, SteelOrbis reported Tokyo Steel Okayama site reportedly at JPY 33,000/mt ($296/mt), the Tahara site at JPY 34,900/mt ($313/mt), and the Utsunomiya site at JPY 32,500/mt ($291/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

According to sources close to SteelOrbis, scrap buying prices at the Okayama site are now reportedly around JPY 32,000/mt ($286/mt), the Tahara site at JPY 33,000 mt ($295/mt), and the Utsunomiya at JPY 31,300/mt ($279/mt), all prices delivered to customer. The Okayama site decreased $10/mt, the Tahara site decreased $18/mt, and the Utsunomiya site decreased $12/mt.
