Japanese H2 scrap trends stable domestically, down in dollar terms

On January 16, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($275-277/mt) delivered to customer. Shindachi scrap was reported at JPY 35,000-35,300/mt ($322-325/mt) delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that H2 and shindachi scrap prices are trending stable at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($273-274/mt) for H2 and shindachi scrap is at JPY 35,000-35,300/mt ($319-322/mt), all prices delivered to customer. Due to currency fluctuations, H2 decreased $2/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $3/mt from the top of the same range. Shindachi scrap decreased $3/mt.
