Japanese H2 scrap stable in domestic market

On January 9, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($277-279/mt) delivered to customer. Shindachi scrap was reported at JPY 35,000-35,300/mt ($324-327/mt) delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that Japanese H2 scrap prices in the regions mentioned above are now trending stable at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($276-278/mt) delivered to customer. Shindachi scrap is reported at JPY 35,000-35,300/mt ($323-326/mt) delivered to customer. Due to currency fluctuations, both grades have declined $1/mt.
