Japanese H2 scrap prices continue downward correction

On November 12, SteelOrbis reported that domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya decreased to JPY 34,300-34,600/mt ($301-304/mt) while shindachi scrap prices also dropped to JPY 39,500-39,800/mt ($347-350/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

Sources close to the market inform SteelOrbis that scrap prices have continued correcting and are now reportedly at JPY 33,700-34,000/mt ($296-298/mt) for H2 scrap and at JPY 39,000-39,300/mt ($342-345/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer. H2 scrap prices decreased by $5/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $6/mt from the top of the same range. Shindachi scrap decreased $5/mt.
