Japanese H2 export scrap deals narrow range, remain relatively stable

On August 30, SteelOrbis reported South Korean mills booking Japanese H2 scrap deals at JPY 32,500-33,500/mt ($295-304/mt) FOB Tokyo Bay.

According to sources, the latest Japanese H2 deals with South Korean mills early in September are at 32,000-32,700/mt ($297-303/mt) FOB. In dollar terms, the bottom of the range increased by $2/mt while the top of the range decreased by $1/mt.

H2 is now approximately at JPY 31,000-31,400/mt ($287-291/mt) FAS while delivered prices to domestic mills are heard at approximately the same level. The price in FAS terms has decreased by JPY 1000-1100/mt and $3-4/mt in dollar terms.

H2 export offers are presently at JPY 32,500-33,300/mt ($301-309/mt) FOB Tokyo Bay. In JPY, the range declined 500-1000/mt, while in dollar terms, the bottom of the range declined by $3/mt and the top of the range remained stable.

Japanese H2 offers continue stable at $325-330/mt CFR Taiwan and CFR South Korea, and at $335-340/mt CFR Vietnam.
