On April 30, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 30,500-30,800/mt ($274-277/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 34,500-34,800/mt ($310-312/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that H2 scrap prices have ticked down and are now at JPY 30,300-30,600/mt ($276-279/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 34,000-34,300/mt ($310-313/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer. Due to a gain in the JPY currency against the dollar, H2 scrap increased $2/mt from both the bottom and top of the previous range while shindachi scrap increased $1/mt from the top of the range while maintaining a stable bottom of range.
