Japanese H2 domestic scrap softens but generally stable in dollar terms

On May 29, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 29,500-29,700/mt ($269-271/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 33,500-33,800/mt ($306-308/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that H2 scrap prices have softened further and are now at JPY 29,200-29,500/mt ($269-272/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 33,100-33,400/mt ($305-308/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer. Due to currency fluctuations, H2 scrap remained stable at the bottom of the previous range and increased $1/mt from the top of the same range while shindachi scrap decreased $1/mt from the bottom of the previous range but remained stable at the top of the same range.
