Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices trend up

On March 4, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 32,700-32,900/mt ($293-294/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 37,700-38,000/mt ($337-340/mt) for shindachi, all prices delivered to customer.

According to market sources, prices have rapidly firmed up again and are now reportedly at JPY 33,000-33,200/mt ($295-297/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 37,900-38,200/mt ($339-341/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer. H2 scrap increased $2/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $3/mt from the top of the same range. Shindachi scrap increased $2/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $1/mt from the top of the same range.
