Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices tick down

On August 26, SteelOrbis reported Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices in the Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya regions at JPY 26,000-26,200/mt ($245-247/mt) and shindachi scrap at JPY 28,800-29,200/mt ($271-275/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that H2 scrap prices have decreased to JPY 25,300-25,800/mt ($239-244/mt) and shindachi scrap at JPY 27,800-28,400/mt ($262-268/mt), all prices delivered to customer. Compared to late August, H2 grade decreased $6/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $3/mt from the top of the same. Shindachi scrap prices also decreased $9/mt the bottom of the previous range and $7/mt from the top of the respective previous range.
