Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices soften slightly

On June 21, SteelOrbis reported domestic scrap prices encountering a slight JPY correction downward, but due to currency fluctuation, prices in dollar terms firmed slightly up. SteelOrbis reported prices at the time for mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 34,400-34,600/mt ($313-315/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 38,700-39,000/mt ($352-355/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that domestic prices in the regions mentioned above have since softened to JPY 34,200-34,400/mt ($310-312/mt) for H2 scrap and at JPY 38,600-38,900/mt ($350-353/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered. Prices for H2 scrap declined $3/mt while prices for shindachi scrap declined $2/mt.
