Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices firm up

On August 20, SteelOrbis reported Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices in the Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya regions at JPY 25,800-26,000/mt ($243-245/mt) and shindachi scrap at JPY 28,600-29,000/mt ($269-273/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that H2 scrap prices have increased to JPY 26,000-26,200/mt ($245-247/mt) and shindachi scrap at JPY 28,800-29,200/mt ($271-275/mt), all prices delivered to customer. Due to currency fluctuations, H2 grade increased $2/mt from both the bottom and top of the previous range while shindachi scrap prices also increased $2/mt from both the bottom and top of the respective previous range.
