Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices continue stable, down in dollar terms

On February 1, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($273-275/mt) while shindachi scrap ticked up to JPY 34,900-35,300/mt ($319-322/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

Market sources inform SteelOrbis that domestic prices have continued to trend stable at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($272-274/mt) while shindachi scrap is also stable at JPY 34,900-35,300/mt ($317-321/mt), all prices delivered to customer. Due to currency fluctuations, H2 scrap has decreased by $1/mt while shindachi scrap has decreased $2/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $1/mt from the top of the same range.
