Japanese H2 domestic scrap continues upward trend

On March 5, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 33,000-33,200/mt ($295-297/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 37,900-38,200/mt ($339-341/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer.

According to market sources, prices have rapidly firmed up again and are now reportedly at JPY 33,700-33,900/mt ($303-305/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 38,800-39,000/mt ($349-350/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer. H2 scrap increased $8/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $8/mt from the top of the same range. Shindachi scrap increased $10/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $9/mt from the top of the same range.
