Japanese domestic scrap prices tick up

On August 7, SteelOrbis reported that Japanese domestic H2 prices continued to trend stable at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 34,300-34,500/mt ($308-310/mt) while shindachi scrap also remained stable at JPY 38,800-39,100/mt ($348-351/mt), all prices delivered.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that domestic scrap prices in Japan ticked up and are now reportedly at JPY 34,400-34,700/mt ($310-313/mt) for H2 scrap while shindachi scrap also increased slightly to JPY 39,000-39,300/mt ($351-354/mt), all prices delivered. H2 scrap prices increased $2/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $3/mt from the top of the same range while shindachi scrap prices increased $3/mt.
