India’s NMDC hikes iron ore prices

India’s state-run miner has increased prices of iron ore lumps and fines with immediate effect, according to a regulatory filing by the company on Tuesday, April 6.

NMDC has increased the price of lumps by nine percent or INR 500/mt to INR 5,850/mt ($79.80/mt) ex-pithead. The price of iron ore fines has been increased by six percent or INR 250/mt to INR 4,560/mt ($62.21/mt) ex-pithead.

The miner had last increased prices of iron ore lumps and fines on March 22.

The new prices are exclusive of royalty and mandatory payments to District Mineral Fund (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET), cess, forest permit fees and other statutory payments.
