Import scrap deals into India widen down on uncertainty

On March 9, SteelOrbis reported containerized shredded scrap deals at $392-403/mt CFR India.

According to sources close to SteelOrbis, import scrap prices into India have widened down on recent market uncertainty. Sources report ex-Europe deals over the past week for containerized shredded scrap were concluded at $385-403/mt CFR India. The range of deals widened down $7/mt on shredded scrap.

In the same period, imported containerized HMS I/II 80:20 deals garnered $350-375/mt CFR Indian main ports. According to sources, these prices are approximately $5-10/mt lower from deals earlier in March.
