The import price for ex-US HMS I/II 80:20 scrap has remained stable in Turkey in a new transaction recently closed to a Marmara region-based steel producer. The buyer paid $260/mt CFR for HMS I/II 80:20, $265/mt CFR for shredded and $270/mt CFR for bonus grade. The 40,000 mt cargo will be shipped in December.

The market sources underline that Turkish mills seem to have booked more deep sea scrap cargoes for December shipments than they were normally expected to book. The Turkish producers are believed to be trying to secure their raw material stocks for the winter period, SteelOrbis understands.
