On April 16, SteelOrbis reported ex-US containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap offers to Taiwan as low as $332/mt CFR Taiwan for May shipment, while ex-US bulk HMS I/II 80:20 scrap offers to the same destination were reportedly as low as $371/mt CFR.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that the wide offer range of $332-345/mt CFR continues through this week as some US suppliers sought to place loads, but the source also stated, “With Japanese containerized H2 offers at $345-355/mt CFR Taiwan along with a generally positive sentiment in the global scrap market and the foreseeable return of South Korean mills in search of scrap, the lower end ex-US offers may disappear.” He added, "I am not actively quoting bulk at the moment, but as we get reorganized in the next week to two, I expect firm numbers."
