On July 20, SteelOrbis reported a downtrend in ex-US deals to Taiwan on containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap in both deals and offers. Deals were reportedly at $330-335/mt CFR with most on the higher side of the range while offers were reportedly wide at $332-340/mt CFR.
On July 23, SteelOrbis reported ex-US containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap offers to Taiwan at $340-350/mt CFR Taiwan with bids at $336-338/mt CFR. Sources inform SteelOrbis that July 23 offers were likely focused on high volume deals with “more attractive arrangements” but that offers for those “serious to engage in deals with moderate volumes were readily available through the week at $335-340/mt CFR with normal terms.”
Ex-US deals on HMS I/II 80:20 through the week ended July 27 were reportedly at $332-335/mt CFR Taiwan with rumors of some actively closing at $330-331/mt CFR due to sufficient supply and a limited number of active buyers as the month ends.
