On August 26, SteelOrbis reported ex-US containerized shredded scrap import deals to Bangladesh at $340-345/mt CFR Bangladesh port (Chittagong). Sources inform SteelOrbis that ex-US offers of containerized HMS I/II 80:20 CFR at the time were around $340/mt CFR Chittagong with deals approximately at $330-335/mt CFR Chittagong.

As Turkish import scrap prices placed downward pressure on global scrap prices in late September into early October with an ex-US deal on HMS I/II 80:20 at $301/mt CFR Turkey and a few sub-$300/mt CFR prices on the same scrap grade from other countries, ex-US scrap offers for HMS I/II 80:20 reportedly decreased to $310/mt CFR Chittagong.

According to an East coast scrap exporter, current ex-US offers to Bangladesh for HMS I/II 80:20 scrap have rebounded to $330-335/mt CFR Chittagong as Turkish scrap deals have firmed up.
