After concluding deals in the $298-303/mt CFR range for containerized HMS I/II 80:20 in late August into early September, sources inform SteelOrbis that the latest ex-US scrap deals to Taiwan have been reportedly at $285-293/mt CFR Taiwan. This shift represents a decrease of $13/mt from the bottom of the early month range and $10/mt from the top of the same range.

Ex-US offers on containerized HMS I/II 80:20 to Taiwan are presently reported at $290-298/mt CFR Taiwan. A source noted that Taiwanese mills preferred domestic sourced scrap material and limited import buys given the recent market uncertainty and weak domestic rebar market.
