On September 19, SteelOrbis reported ex-US scrap deals on containerized HMS I/II 80:20 to Taiwan trading at $285-293/mt CFR. According to sources close to SteelOrbis, deals are most recently reported at $283-285/mt CFR Taiwan. This range represents a price erosion of $2/mt from the bottom of the previously reported range and $8/mt from the top of the same range.

Due to a weak domestic steel market and lower Chinese product pricing that may limit export opportunities for Taiwanese products, a source noted the increased likelihood that Taiwan will continue buying scrap predominantly in the domestic market with limited imports until the market situation becomes clearer.

Bids on containerized HMS I/II 80:20 are reported at $278-280/mt CFR Taiwan with offers at $290-295/mt CFR Taiwan.
