Sources inform SteelOrbis that after the increase in Turkish scrap import prices following the Section 232 tariff adjustment down to 25 percent on Turkish finished steel from 50 percent, “it is looking like Turkish scrap import prices are likely to drop just as fast.” Ex-US bulk prices are “facing a downward trend”, especially during the ongoing quiet Turkish holiday.

A source noted that container price levels “have held their increases for the most part.” Containerized shredded scrap to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are now reportedly around $275-280/mt FAS for these destinations from the East coast.
