Ex-US bulk scrap trades to Asia

Ex-US bulk scrap cargoes have been heard trading in the Asian market through the past week at $325/mt CFR South Korea and $330/mt CFR Vietnam for HMS I scrap.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that the trades translate to approximately $318-320/mt CFR South Korea or $323-325/mt CFR Vietnam for bulk cargoes of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap. Prices to Taiwan are trending near CFR South Korean levels. Containerized HMS I/II 80:20 are reportedly at $305/mt CFR Taiwan with deals at $300/mt CFR Taiwan. The containerized to bulk market spread has historically trended at $20/mt. According to a source, during the summer, the spread increased to $25-30/mt, but it has since decreased to $18-20/mt.
