A deal at $380/mt CFR for H2 scrap from Japan has been confirmed as done in the middle of this week to Vietnam, SteelOrbis has learned. Though most offers were at $400/mt CFR during most of the week, buyers’ sentiments have been hit dramatically. “If someone wants to sell they need to provide below $380/mt CFR,” a source said. Last week, prices for H2 in Vietnam were mainly at $430/mt CFR.

There have been no fresh offers for ex-US HMS I/II 80:20 by bulk in Vietnam lately, but sources have been assessing the market level as being at $400/mt CFR, down from $420/mt CFR reported earlier this week.

The SteelOrbis reference price for ex-Japan H2 scrap has been settled at JPY 35,000-36,500/mt ($334-348/mt) FOB, down by JPY 750/mt ($7/mt) on average from yesterday, January 28, and down by JPY 4,500/mt ($43) since last week.
