Two more import scrap deals have been disclosed to the Turkish market, clarifying the general price range for ex-EU origin scrap.

An ex-UK cargo was sold to an Iskenderun region-based producer with HMS I/II 80:20 scrap priced at $281/mt CFR, bonus grade at $291/mt CFR and rails at $296/mt CFR. In addition, a cargo from the Netherlands has been traded this week at $278/mt CFR for HMS I/II 80:20 and $288/mt CFR for bonus grade to the Izmir region, SteelOrbis has learned. Both deals are for September shipment. Taking into account the deal from Finland, also considered as part of the Baltic region, the ex-Europe scrap price range in deals to Turkey is now standing at $278-283/mt CFR.

Still, market players are positive regarding the prospects for the further price trend in the scrap segment. According to sources, ex-US offers have reached $290/mt CFR today.
