Over the past week, demand for ex-CIS pig iron in target markets has remained slack and buyers have exerted pressure on prices due to the downward movement of scrap prices. CIS-based pig iron suppliers’ quotations to the global market are still at $330-350/mt FOB and thier offers to the US and Italy are still at $360-370/mt CFR. However, market sources think that the suppliers are likely to decrease their prices slightly in order to continue their sales in the short term.
