Over the past two weeks, demand for ex-CIS pig iron in the global market has remained weak due to the holiday season in the European market and since Turkish buyers were also away from the market due to the Feast of Sacrifice holiday (Aug. 31- Sept. 4). However, CIS-based pig iron exporters have continued to reflect the uptrend of raw material prices, which was observed until mid-August, in their quotations, with their offers increasing by $20/mt on the upper end over the past two weeks to $370-400/mt FOB.
