Over the past week, ex-CIS pig iron offers to the export markets have decreased by $5/mt to $330-340/mt FOB, impacted by the weakness of demand. According to market sources, offers below the low-end of this price range are also possible for buyers of larger volumes, while US-based buyers in particular have decreased their demand for ex-CIS pig iron. Meanwhile, pig iron offers from the CIS region to Turkey are at $345-355/mt CFR, including a recent offer for 3,000 mt of pig iron to be shipped to Samsun at $352/mt CFR.
