Over the past week, ex-CIS pig iron offers to the export markets have remained stable at $340-345/mt FOB. While their offer prices to the US are at $360-370/mt CIF, CIS-based pig iron suppliers are likely to determine their quotations for Italy depending on their future sales prices in the US market. According to market sources, demand for ex-CIS pig iron in the US are at medium levels, while US-based buyers are more interested in Brazilian pig iron bookings, which are at $315/mt FOB for August shipment. However, CIS-based suppliers are also continuing their sales to the US.
