SteelOrbis has been informed that a Canadian scrap supplier has concluded a scrap deal in Turkey today, January 19, for a scrap cargo consisting of 30,000 mt of HMS I/II 90:10 scrap, 15,000 mt of shredded scrap and 5,000 mt of bonus grade scrap to Turkish steel producers at the average price level of $184.25/mt CFR. At the beginning of last week, the same scrap supplier had given an offer to Turkey for the same cargo at the average price level of $200/mt CFR, while after the declines seen in ex-US scrap quotations to Turkey, the supplier had adjusted its offer to the average price level of $192/mt CFR. However, the deal has been concluded at a price level far below the supplier’s most recent offer.
