Ex-Brazil pig iron offers to US edge down on upper end

On September 1, SteelOrbis reported ex-Brazil basic steelmaking pig iron offers to the US trending up on new deals with offers at $390-400/mt CFR.

According to sources, for the week ended September 8, pig iron offers are at $390-395/mt CFR from both the northern and southern regions of Brazil. The new range represents a slight $5/mt decline from the top of the previous range, with sources noting that offer prices are “basically stable.”

From the southern region, pig iron offers are at $360-365/mt FOB Southern Brazil port while at $380-385/mt FOB from Northern Brazil.
