Turkish mills remain interested in scrap from the Baltic region, with another batch lately being sold to the Izmir region. In a 40,000 mt cargo from Lithuania, HMS I/II 80:20 scrap was priced at $274/mt CFR, while bonus grade was sold at $284/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. The lot will be shipped in March. The previous deal for ex-Baltic HMS I/II 80:20 was reported on February 13 at $273.5/mt CFR.

Marker players expect more import scrap deals to be closed shortly, with some sources estimating that Turkish mills require at least 15 deep sea cargoes to be booked for March shipment as of now.
