Along with the numerous scrap deals lately concluded to Turkey from the US and the EU, another transaction to Turkey- this time from the Baltic region - has also been reported. According to the market sources, a Turkish steel producer has purchased HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $223/mt CFR and bonus grade at $233/mt CFR from St. Petersburg, down $17/mt for the benchmark grade since earlier in September. Sources report that the total volume in question is 20,000 mt. In addition, another sale is being reported in the market as having been transacted at $222/mt CFR from the Baltic region for HMS I/II 80:20. Moreover, Turkey’s scrap market players report that currently there is an increased number of offers from the Baltic region to Turkish mills as the suppliers there most probably are aiming to sell off their allocation before any possible new drop in prices.

In the meantime, the most recent transactions from the US were concluded at $226-228/mt CFR for HMS I/II 80:20, as reported earlier.
