Ex-Australia coking coal offers to India tick up

On November 6, SteelOrbis reported offers for PHCC (premium hard coking coal) from Australia to India slightly soft at $217-218/mt FOB while HCC ticked up slightly to $194/mt FOB. The PHCC prices reportedly translated to approximately $231-233/mt CFR while HCC prices were estimated at $207-209/mt CFR.

Regional sources inform SteelOrbis that market is facing slow activity from China, the most consequential coking coal buyer, and offers to India are reportedly at $222-223/mt FOB Australia for PHCC and $194-195/mt FOB for HCC (64 mid volatility). While HCC increased $1/mt, PHCC increased $5/mt week-on-week. 

India has imported 42.99 million mt of coking coal in the January-October 2018 period.
