Downtrend of local Turkish scrap market continues unabated

Most Turkish mills have announced a further decrease in their domestic scrap purchase prices today, February 8, by TRY 50-120/mt, resulting in a $9-19/mt decline on dollar basis as compared to Friday, February 5. The dollar-based quotations of the other mills which decided to keep their lira-based prices stable have decreased by $1-2/mt.

Since Friday, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved down from TRY 2,640-3,125/mt to TRY 2,570-3,025/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have declined from the range of $373-442/mt to $362-426/mt.
