According to sources, domestic scrap prices have increased by about €5-10/mt in the local Italian market compared to the beginning of last week. The same sources said that this upward trend should continue in the coming period.

Market sources tend to exclude any price reductions in the local Italian scrap market, although the market remains extremely volatile: in the past month, it went from an upward trend to a downward trend, while it is now trending up again. The sources added that scrap supplies held by domestic steel mills are not on the high side.
