It is observed that demand for ex-CIS pig iron has remained quiet during the past week, while buyers are still postponing their ex-CIS pig iron purchases. Having declined to $365-370/mt FOB last week, ex-CIS pig iron offers have remained stable in the current week. Slower trading activity in Turkish steel market as well as the slower domestic and export finished steel sales of Turkish mills are both preventing a revival in Turkey’s pig iron demand. Meanwhile, demand for ex-CIS pig iron in the US has not recovered, while no pig iron offers from the CIS region to the US has been heard over the past week.
