After several days of relative silence, new import scrap deals for the deep-sea cargoes were disclosed to the market, indicating sizeable drop compared to the previous transactions.

The key US scrap supplier, according to the sources, has sold a mixed cargo to Izmir, in which HMS I/II 80:20 was priced at $240/mt CFR, shredded scrap – at $245/mt CFR and bonus grade – at $250/mt CFR. In addition, an Iskenderun region-based producer has purchased HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $237/mt CFR and bonus grade at $247/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. Once compared to previous transactions, heard in the market in early September, both benchmarks have lost $17/mt and $13/mt, respectively.
