Bangladesh imported scrap prices slide

On August 1, SteelOrbis reported that scrap prices to Bangladesh from the UK and EU trended down to $362-370/mt for containerized shredded scrap and $345-355/mt CFR for containerized HMS I/II 80:20.

Market sources inform SteelOrbis that prices from the UK and EU regions are now reportedly at $360-370/mt for containerized shredded scrap and $340-350/mt CFR for containerized HMS I/II 80:20. Prices decreased $2/mt from the bottom of the previous shredded scrap range while maintaining the top of the same range. Prices for HMS I/II 80:20 declined $5/mt over the week. A source reported that steel demand and corresponding production in the region continues strong and that buyers are actively closing on deals for imported containerized scrap.
