Another ex-Baltic scrap cargo booked in Turkey

Ex-Baltic import scrap prices are gaining clarity in Turkey. A local Turkish steel producer, based in the Izmir region, has recently purchased a scrap cargo from Latvia. The cargo consists of 30,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 at $223.5/mt CFR and 5,000 mt of bonus grade at $233.5/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. The previous transaction from the region, ex-St. Petersburg, was reported yesterday, September 25, at $223/mt CFR for HMS I/II 80:20. Currently, players report there are a lot of scrap cargoes on offer from the Baltic region within the $223-225/mt CFR range.
