The base FOB price for negotiations of wire rod exports from Brazil remains at $524/mt for the mesh grade and $605/mt for the drawing grade, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

He mentioned that the price is the same since a 12 percent increase on 01 December, adding that sales in volume are reduced in December from November due to a seasonal trend, rather than due to the new prices.

In November, for price deals probably closed in September, ArcelorMittal exported its wire rod from Brazil in average at $504/mt and Gerdau at $426/mt, both FOB conditions.

The main destinations were the US (23,500mt), South America (7,340mt) and the Caribbean (2,000mt).
