US import wire rod prices unchanged

With little to no change in wire rod demand conditions in the US along with widespread resistance to higher US domestic prices, US import wire rod offers are unchanged week-on-week, at $28.00-$29.00 cwt. ($617-$639/mt or $560-$580/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports from Germany.

Additionally, sources tell SteelOrbis that there is position availability at US ports, as May arrivals have maintained stable levels from previous months. However, May arrivals are also expected to reflect the last “pre-pandemic” import orders, with arrivals likely experiencing a sharp decline in June.
