Sources report little to no change in the US import wire rod market over the last week, with offer prices remaining stable and interest remaining low. Unlike the revival in interest in other long product imports like rebar, demand for wire rod in the US is not strong enough to mitigate the uncertainty about ordering material that won’t arrive until the end of the year. As such, importers continue to report lackluster activity.

This week, US import wire rod offers from Germany remain unchanged at $26.50-$27.50 cwt. ($584-$606/mt or $530-$550/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.
