US import rebar offers maintained a stabilized trend in the last week after experiencing a slight rise, and sources tell SteelOrbis that gradual upticks further are expected. Less uncertainty about the market in the next few months has encouraged more buyers to inquire about imports, and traders say it’s likely the increase in inquiries will soon translate in a moderate boost in ordering activity.

For now, US import rebar offers are steady week-on-week, at $38.00-$39.50 cwt. ($838-$871/mt or $760-$790/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports from Turkey, and $37.50-$38.50 cwt. ($827-$849/mt or $750-$770/nt) DDP Houston from Mexico.
